Welcome from the Chapter President
Greetings and welcome!
Thank you for visiting the official website of the Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. It is my honor and privilege to serve as Chapter President for the 2026–2028 biennium, and on behalf of our members, I am delighted to welcome you to our online home.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college-educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service, with a primary focus on the Black community. Since our chartering on December 11, 2004, the Elegant Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter has proudly upheld that mission by serving the communities of Elk Grove, South Sacramento, West Sacramento, Natomas, and Yolo County.
For more than 20 years, our chapter has remained steadfast in advancing Delta Sigma Theta's mission through impactful programs and initiatives centered on our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:
Economic Development
Educational Development
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement
Educational development remains one of our signature areas of service. Our award-winning Delta GEMS and African American Achieves youth programs empower young women and young men to develop academically, socially, and as future leaders. We are also proud to invest in higher education through our annual scholarship program, which includes the Carolyn N. Watts Scholarship, the Theresa A. Pradia HBCU Scholarship, and the Jacquelyn M. & Jimmie Ward African American Nursing Scholarship. These scholarships support graduating high school seniors and current college students from the greater Sacramento region, with applications opening each January and awards presented annually in June.
As we continue building upon more than two decades of dedicated service, our commitment remains unwavering. Through volunteerism, advocacy, leadership development, community partnerships, scholarships, and meaningful programming, we strive to create opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
Our chapter is grounded in the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. We believe that when women come together with purpose, integrity, inclusion, and accountability, we create lasting change and leave a meaningful legacy for future generations.
Whether you are interested in learning more about our programs, attending one of our community events, applying for scholarships, partnering with our chapter, or discovering ways to support our mission, we invite you to explore our website and connect with us.
Thank you for your interest in the Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving alongside our community as we continue our legacy of excellence and impactful service.
In Community,
Dr. Sheri Patrick
President, Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter
