2026 Theresa A. Pradia HBCU Book Scholarship
The Elk Grove Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (largest predominantly African American Sorority), proudly announces the 2026 Theresa A. Pradia HBCU Book Scholarship Application for deserving high school students from Sacramento or Yolo Counties that have been admitted (or currently attending) an accredited Historically Black College or University for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. This scholarship fund was created in memory of Theresa A. Pradia who was a proud HBCU Alumni of Southern University, where she was initiated at Alpha Tau Chapter, and a long-standing member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for over 60 years!
Available Scholarships for 2026 - 2027• $500 HBCU Book Scholarship (multiple scholarships to be awarded).
Scholarship Eligibility:
● Current graduating African American (male or female) high school senior as of Spring 2026, at any high school in Sacramento or Yolo County are eligible to apply; OR a current matriculated student at an HBCU that attended high school in Sacramento or Yolo County.
● Must be a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) by the Fall of 2026.
● Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale) and demonstrate financial need.
● Applicants should demonstrate their motivation to attend an accredited HBCU and potential for continued matriculation.
● Selected recipients will receive their scholarship directly after enrollment verification is received from HBCU Registrar’s Office with proof of Fall Enrollment. Students Are Eligible to Apply if they are currently enrolled in any high schools in any School District within Sacramento or Yolo Counties.
